The Roaring Mouse Coffee Roasters of Hart
This cooler weather is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea! Either way you like it, we have you covered! Every week we have 4-6 varieties of freshly roasted coffee, and 5+ varieties of loose leaf tea. We also have some amazing fair-trade organic chocolate barks, and chocolate covered coffee beans! We can only bring a few varieties of our chocolates to the market each week, so be sure to check out our list on Facebook and pre-order if there is something specific you want.
Featured coffee of the week! Check our facebook page for details on our coffee of the week.
We will also plan to bring our Guatemala FTO, Papua New Guinea FTO, Colombia FTO, and a Decaf.
As always, we sell our coffee by the ounce so you can get the perfect amount to use while it is the freshest. We also have gift certificates; the perfect gift for a coffee lover!
Come taste the fresh difference! Coffee is seasonal, so expect some variety. We try not to roast too much extra in order to keep the coffee fresh every week.
Our list of Teas and Chocolates has gotten too long to include here, so check out our Facebook page for the full list of what we have available.
Email us to order in advance, and we will have it bagged up and ready for you. Advance orders will ensure that we don’t run out of your favorite coffee before you get there, and speed up your shopping if you are in a hurry!

Wild Earth Chocolate of Muskegon
This week, we are working on 80% dark chocolate sweetened with D-ribose as the sweetener, for a big boost of calm energy right to your cells. We are going to try to have it done for the market, only time will tell.
We will be offering:
Chocolate drizzled popcorn
Chocolate drizzled popcorn with Pecans
Buckwheaties (Kale, Buckwheat & Sunflower Seeds)
Pineapple Pecan Clusters
Walnut Raisin Clusters
Cacao Beans
Cacao Nibs
Cacao Powder
Cacao Butter

Blackbird Farm of Coopersville
We are set to have a pretty thorough frost over the weekend, so I am busy protecting what I can and harvesting what I can’t. Certainly we are going to say goodbye to the last of the hangers-on of the summer crops this week. But we still have plenty of cold-hardy vegetables in the field to take us through the rest of the fall. Overall, I am ready for this significant shift in the rhythm of the farm.
This week I will likely bring:
kale
chard
collard greens
bok choi
tatsoi
napa cabbages
mini cabbages
broccoli
baby fennel
sweet peppers
eggplant
leeks
celery
carrots
potatoes
turnips
fall radishes
red and yellow onions
shallots
garlic

Shady Side Farm of Holland
The beans are back! We continue to harvest our certified organic beans, and will have the following freshly-harvested varieties along this week:
Black Calypso – Plump, with creamy texture. Slightly nutty, mellow taste, something like a russet potato.
Black Valentine – Taste like kidney beans, great for salads, soups and dips.
Hidatsa Red – Similar to a kidney bean but with a slightly nutty taste, these beans are good in salads, chilis, soups or served with grains.
Hutterite Soup – Comfort food, cook fast, creamy soup, baby food.
Jacob’s Cattle – Big and meaty, taste & texture of new potatoes, traditional baked beans, chili.
Jacob’s Cattle Gold – Hold their shape and soak up other flavors well. Great for soups, stews, salads and baked beans.
Marrow – Plump, soft white beans that soak up the flavors of whatever you cook them with. Great soup beans.
October – Creamy, velvety smooth texture, nutty, sweet flavor, thin skin, soups or chili.
Painted Lady – Slightly sweet, with a smooth, creamy texture.
Pinto – Earthy flavor, great in Mexican cooking, falls apart under long cooking. Also have a limited supply of split pintos for $1/pound.
NEW! Tiger Eye – Rich, hearty flavor, with a smooth texture and tender skins.
Yellow Indian Women – These buttery beans retain their shape well, and are less starchy than some other beans. Good all purpose bean.
Zebra – Smooth, creamy texture, full-bodied flavor, good all-purpose bean.
Leftover from last year, and discounted:
Black Turtle – (last year’s crop) Common black bean with a thick skin and a meaty texture. Discounted $1 a pound while supplies last.
Please let us know ahead of time if you’d like to order 5# bags of any one variety, so that we can pre-bag those and bring them along.
In addition, we offer Grassfield Farms organic raw aged cheeses in the following flavors:
NEW! Smoked Gouda – I’ll have samples along. Smoky and rich, this cheese does not disappoint!
NEW! Aged Edam – I’ll have samples along. Two years old, this skim milk cheese is wonderful!
Country Dill – A house favorite, the dill herb in Gouda well represents the fresh grass that dominates the cows’ diet.
Crofters – This delicious cheese is aged at least a year and has a medium sharp taste. The texture is dry and crumbly. Very similar to Parmesan.
Fait Gras – Grassfields’ signature cheese, Fait Gras is a triple cream cheddar. Rich!
Gouda – A traditional handmade cheese in keeping with West Michigan’s Dutch culture.
Lamont Cheddar – A rare, natural rind English cheese, named for the Grand River’s first settlement near our farm.
Leyden – Originally from the Rhine Valley, now the Grand River Valley; cumin perfectly compliments this aged Dutch cheese.
Cheese Sticks – Want to try some cheese, but don’t need a whole 8 ounces? We’ll have a few cheese sticks along each week, in a variety of cheese types, for $2 each.
Ask about our grassfed lamb for your freezer. Last year some of our Sweetwater customers loved the lamb they got from us so much that this year they ordered two. (Same thing happened at Fulton Street Market in GR.)
Finally, I will have my handwoven rag rugs along this Saturday.
See you Saturday!

Maple Moon Farm of Shelby
We’ve been busy gathering in the harvest and preparing the gardens for the cold weather months.  This week we spent the better part of three days harvesting our potato field.  We grew seven different varieties, and they all look big and beautiful.  We gathered up over 9,000 row ft of potatoes to feed you all winter.  We use an old fashion potato digger that brings the tubers to the surface of the soil, and then we pick them up by hand.  It is one of our favorite harvests!  We are so grateful to Nancy Oomey and Sandy Vandenberg, who played with Zen and Sova while we harvested, and to Elsie Binns and Kathleen Rash for bringing fresh energy to the final day of harvest. We’re also grateful to the Bobiers who rent us the beautiful ground where we grow our potatoes. We’ll begin cleaning and sorting them, and have at least one variety ready for market on Saturday.
