Blackbird Farm of Coopersville
On the farm this week we enjoyed a little throwback to high summer, with warm temperatures and sunny days perfect for ripening up the last of the summer fruits. With cooler and wetter weather in view looking forward, it’s time to start saying goodbye to the warm-season crops and looking forward to the cool-season vegetables of fall. Our booth this week at market will see a mix of both.
This Saturday we will likely be bringing:
toscano kale
collard greens
head lettuce, red and green
Napa cabbages
radishes, purple and red
broccoli
eggplant
sweet peppers, red and green
shishito peppers
jalapeno peppers and other hot peppers
green and yellow beans
red tomatoes
heirloom tomatoes, many varieties
saladette tomatoes, perfect for roasting or drying
paste tomatoes, sold by the 1/2 bushel
multi-color cherry tomatoes, possibly the last for the season
potatoes
red and yellow onions
scallions
garlic
plus microgreens: beets, broccoli, and our spicy mix
Looking forward to seeing friends old and new at this week’s market!

Idyll Farms Goat Creamery of Northport, MI
Please note: If you signed up for a pre-order for Gris, we will not have it this week, but next week instead. Idyll Gris has a smooth, fluffy texture and mild, lemony flavor from pasture based farmstead Idyll goat milk. The dark grey line across its center is vegetable ash that helps develop the edible, wrinkled rind. Look for the deliciously runny layer just underneath the rind as it ages that is called the cream line!
Available in 1lb wheels by pre-order only.
