Dark Water started their coffee roasting company in 2019 with the mission to support farmers that take pride in what they do and who deserve to be compensated fairly for their hard work. They purchase certified organic & fair trade coffees and have a pretty incredible selection at their website: www.darkwatercoffeeroasters.com

Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
We’ll be back at market this Saturday with our complete selection of herb and vegetable plants (including many heirloom tomato varieties!) for walk-up sales. And again this week, you have the option to pre-order via our online form, which will ensure that you’ll be able to get the plants you want on Saturday without waiting in line. The order deadline is noon on Friday.
We will have plants available at Sweetwater throughout the month of May (and perhaps into June), both for walk-up sales and pre-orders. (A new form will be published each week to reflect current inventory.)
And in case your May Saturdays are already jam-packed but you still want to purchase some plants, all Sweetwater friends are cordially invited to our on-farm plant sale and perennial exchange on Thursday, May 19, 5:00-8:00 pm (5213 Roosevelt, Coopersville, MI 49404).

Forest Finds of Muskegon
Plant facts!
St. John’s wort is a summer blooming plant with bright yellow flowers. It is commonly used internally during the dark months for seasonal depression, and shifting moods. It is best to not use internally during the summer, as it can cause photo sensitivity. Interestingly it is wonderful topically for sunburns. Infused into oil it turns the oil a dark red color, due to a constituent in the flowers called hypericum. It is concentrated in little dots on the edge of the petals. St. John’s wort oil is used topically for inflammation, sunburns, irritated skin, and soothing shingles. Check out our St Johns wort oil!
