Ed. note about Honeycrisp apples: I incorrectly identified them as certified organic. While they are certainly organically grown they are not yet certified. The Jensens are working with OEFFA as their certifier. They have gone to the expense of doing the required testing and are keeping all of the records required. Their contact at OEFFA told them for this first year it wasn’t worth the expense to pay to get the certification until they had more volume. They shared their tests & results with Sweetwater.
Forest Finds of Muskegon
Change in plans, we will be attending this Saturday, but not the next.
And, I have two new items.
Mulberry shrub! $11
Organic mulberries extracted in apple cider vinegar and our raw honey. The combo of apple cider vinegar and honey is a good electrolyte mix. This makes a nice addition to sparkling or still water, for extra flavor and hydration. This is also a great addition to olive oil for a salad dressing.
Elderberry syrup! $15/4oz
Local wild elderberries with warming spices, herb extracts, and our raw honey. Tastiest way to fight those seasonal bugs!
