Blackbird Farm of Coopersville
This week at market, we are again offering our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. We also include a brief note from Farmer Greg and a farm-tested recipe. Each bag costs $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain a combination of some of the following: kale, lettuce, mini cabbage, green peppers, summer squash, zucchini, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, parsley, sweet onions, and fresh garlic. Again, each bag will cost $15.
To order your Blackbird Farms Veggie Bag, please email us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Thursday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).
We also plan to have many items for walk-up sales—watch for more information in Friday’s newsletter.
Thanks so much! We’re looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
Hello :-),
We’ve had a very interesting and busy summer. Thursday evening Fancey (our Jersey cow) came into the barn without being called or coaxed, and was moving at a faster pace than is typical. I went to see her, and hearing loud insects, headed for the swatter, thinking I would get revenge on the horse fly that nailed me on the back the night before. The insects didn’t behave like horse flies, so after taking out 3 of them, I stopped to inspect them. They were bald faced hornets! Now, I welcome most anything that helps with fly population control, but since I haven’t located where they intend to construct their home, I’m quite uneasy with their presence!
We will accept orders until 5pm on Friday. If you miss the deadline or prefer to shop in person, I bring a selection of what’s available every Saturday. I will plan to get totals emailed out by 9:30pm.  If you don’t get a response from me, please contact me. We accept cash or check payable to Pine Row Farm.
