Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
This week at market, we are offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. Each bag will cost $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain some combination of the following: sweet peppers, scallions, kale, leeks, kohlrabi, beets, acorn squash, shallots, and microgreens. Again, each bag will cost $15.
This week we also will have a variety of vegetables available for pre-order:
–kale (red curly, green curly, and lacinato): 1 pound for $4
–collard greens: 1 pound for $4
—full-size cabbages: $4 each
—leeks: 1 pound for $3
—shallots: $10 a pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
—red and yellow storage onions: 1 pound for $3
–Music garlic (larger cloves, ~4-5 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
—Anna Barbara’s Ohio Red garlic (smaller cloves, ~6-8 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
To order, please e-mail us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).

Shady Side Farm of Holland
We will be at market this Saturday with our lamb bratwurst patties and links (natural seasoning), ground lamb, corn meal and grits, and beans.
We are harvesting and cleaning beans right now, and don’t have anything up on the website. Please wait until Wednesday-Friday to place your order for this Saturday, to allow us time to list some beans on the site. On Wednesday, please pre-order through the website between until Friday at noon. Indicate in the comments/notes section that you would like to pickup at Sweetwater. Email orders also work, but there are more moving parts and it’s easier for me to miss a step.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-ORDER & DRIVE THROUGH
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly. Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.
If you have not already done so you may want to sign up for the newsletter
to be informed of the pre-order schedule for the next market.
