Attending this week’s market:
Shady Side Farm of Holland
*We accept debit/credit cards!
Please note: This will be our last visit to Sweetwater until after the Christmas Kerstmarkt in Holland which runs from Nov 23 to Dec 14th!
I will have dryer balls and an assortment of mittens and hats.
We will have along a small assortment of heirloom, certified organic beans. Due to spring and fall weather conditions beyond our control, our bean harvest was very poor this year. We will not be selling any heirlooms in bulk quantities and the price is a little higher than normal. We still have a good amount of Black Turtle beans from last year’s harvest, and those are available in bulk amounts at a discount. Please email to preorder bulk. Thanks for understanding.
We will also have corn meal and grits/polenta along to market.
And we will be bringing our grass-fed lamb bratwurst. We also have a few brat/summer sausage 1/4-lamb bundles that we will bring along if you’d like to buy in bulk.

Blackbird Farm of Coopersville
This early cold snap has caught us a little off guard, I have to say. While we have completed all our “mission critical” fall tasks, many jobs still lie under the snow, as yet undone. And this weather places a bunch of question marks in Friday’s harvest docket as well. I am reasonably confident that our cold-hardy field crops have come through the arctic freeze okay, but I won’t know for sure until things thaw out. So consider this week’s market list an exercise in hopeful thinking!
This week at market we will likely be bringing:
Toscano kale
head lettuce, red and green, butterhead and looseleaf
microgreens (potentially)
cabbages, full size and mini
broccoli
Brussels sprouts
potatoes, several varieties
horseradish (possibly)
leeks
onions
shallots
garlic, two varieties
We will also have the last of this season’s ginger and turmeric harvest.
Looking forward to seeing friends old and new this weekend!
