We are looking forward to coming to market again this Saturday.  We will be bringing eggs again, just chicken this week as our ducks seem to be taking the Fall off.  Our chickens are fed certified organic feed, which we soak for optimal nutrition, and are outside in a moveable pen.  We also hope to bring a limited quantity of Mixed Greens and Baby Spinach from our hoop house.

New vendor!
NOVA Bakery of Norton Shores
A little background on the start of this…
The pastry chef in me says “use the best ingredients and create a quality product”. The RD in me says “sweets in moderation, no processed foods and don’t ignore food allergies”. The mom in me says “do I really want to give that to me kids?” The idea for NOVA came from listening to all of these voices, so that is why:
-I use local products when I can
-I use ORGANIC if it’s available
-I can create vegan, gluten-friendly (my kitchen is not GF), dairy-free, soy-free….or any other request!
-I do NOT use artificial ANYTHING
-All of my packaging will be recyclable, compostable and/or biodegradable
First, I want to thank everyone that came by my booth for food samples last week and to check out NOVA’s treats!  I am looking forward to chatting with you again.  I love talking about baking-so please come with any questions!
NOVA will have the following on Saturday:
-Chocolate chip cashew cookies (GF, organic)
-honey caramel corn (Hidden Creek corn and honey)
-Assorted chocolate bars
-PREORDER for Thanksgiving: Caramel Ganache Tart (Organic, GF, soy-free)

Farmer Dave’s Produce of Hesperia
(formerly with Summer Blend Gardens)
A few years back Farmer Dave’s doctor told him more fresh veggies in his diet would be good. Sixty plus years of farming and 20 plus years of compost experience went to work and became Farmer Dave’s Produce. Dave and Candy set forth a little over a year ago to build a massive year round greenhouse, added just the right nutrient & mineral rich soil, and with the right temps, sunshine and Gods blessing are now growing veggies for sale at the market. Our partner Marty of Summer Blend brought our veggies early in the spring, now we will come in the fall & winter! We will have large, red, fresh tomatoes again for Saturday!

Market Quiz is back! Be one of first 10 customers to bring us the right answers and win $5 in market bucks! (We’ll start off easy this week!)
1. Winter might be just around the corner but our genius farmers have outwitted the elements!
How many vendors are using season extending contraptions for their produce?
2. Market rules dictate what farmers who want to bring eggs to the market have to use for supplementing feed for their pasture raised feathered friends. Name the two types of feed and how many farmers are bringing eggs this week? (hint: you might have to google market rules for this one!)
3. How many new vendors have done cooking demos at the market?

See you at the market!
