Back this week: Sampling Heirloom Tomatoes!
At this week’s market:
Cherry Point Farm & Market of Shelby
Farmer and owner Barbara Bull tells us this farm and market have been in her family since 1949. She took over the farm in 1987, and ten years ago planted a new peach orchard, growing it organically from the beginning. Her helper Sandy will be bringing lots of ripe juicy Red Haven peaches to market for this week only. Half bushels and pecks.
Plan to visit the farm soon to see the amazing lavender labyrinth!

BEEF ~ Please note: We are out of Steaks. Consider other cuts of beef now that the weather is a bit cooler. Crock pot a roast or short ribs.
Try our beef. Our steers are on lush rotational pastures from May to November. They get all our quality hay they can eat, plus a little home-grown and ground- on-the-farm grain mostly in winter. Feeding cows small amounts of good grains are like humans eating small portions of dessert. It’s ok for them as long as grass and legumes are their main diet. The steers are hung to age and processed by Ebel’s Meats in Falmouth, a family-run USDA operation. Email us pre-orders by Friday 7pm.
Quarters of BEEF for sale. This is the most economical way to purchase beef. Talk to me or email for more information. www.earthscapefarm@gmail.com

Winter Whitefish Sale is back! We are close to wrapping up the whitefish season. Technically the season closes October 31, but in reality any time in October could be the end. This is your chance to purchase whitefish in bulk at a reduced price to fill your freezer with while we are gone (this year we are roughly planning on being gone 25 weeks). We are starting the Winter Whitefish Sale early this year in order to fill everyone’s order before the season ends. Order forms and half payment will be accepted starting now, and orders will begin being filled the first week of September.

Shady Side Farm of Holland
This Saturday we’ll take along our certified organic pinto beans and black beans. Stop by Olson Farms booth to see how to PRESSURE CAN our DRY BEANS! We’ll comb the garden to see what’s ready–likely green and yellow beans, squash, and peppers. And we’ll take along handwoven rag rugs (made from recycled materials), fresh-from-the-farm wool socks, yarn and roving for spinning.
McLaughlin Grows of Muskegon
We will bring our large Cuostralee Heirloom Tomatoes, Sungold and red cherry toms, and other veggies. Also we will have our CSA shares ready for pick up.
Olson Farm of Shelby
Onions! Big Daddy, Ailsa Craig and Italian Cippollini! Also green beans and a selection of paste and cherry tomatoes, plus my Taste of Spring Maple Syrup.
Chickadee Creek Farm of Nunica
Chris and Amy VanDenToorn are turning their recently purchased 20 acre farm in Nunica into their dream operation: a chemical free, compost-based produce operation complemented by a pasture raised livestock production. Currently they have a small CSA program (7 shares), pastured hogs, a flock of free range laying hens, ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, and goats. They will bring extra produce and their own farm grown fruit made into delicious jams and jellies. Chris interned at the Trillium Haven Farm in Jenison, and while they both still have off-farm jobs they look forward to growing with Sweetwater and making the farm their full time pursuit.
This week they will cucumbers, beans, squash, and hot peppers. Plus blueberry, strawberry and raspberry jams!
Laughing Tree Brick Oven Bakery of Hart
Our breads are baked in a handbuilt ,wood-fired brick oven which creates loaves of amazing texture and beauty!
We had so much fun sampling and selling Auntie P’s Chocolate Cherry this past weekend. That bread has been through some big changes since the last time we brought it to market and we are thrilled with the results. It is soooooo tasty. Almost more like cake than bread (no added sugar though). Anyway, next time we make it (which will be sometime soon), I recommend getting your hands on a little nibble—or a big nibble!
This Week’s SPECIALTY BREADS are:
Cobmoosa Onion Rye ( Carmelized organic onions, Michigan rye flour, and a hint of caraway) $6.00
Pain au Chocolat (Deep, dark French Valrhona chocolate and our lovely light wheat bread) $7.00

Irish Cheddar Peppercorn (Smooth Irish Cheddar and tongue-tingling organic black pepper) $8.00
Pastries for Saturday: We will be baking our Delightful Pecan Date Scones, Lovely Lemon Scones, Cranberry Orange Scones, Truly Ginger Scones, and our Michigan Cherry Scones. All of our scones are made with organic butter and cream, fresh eggs, and a pinch of organic sugar. We will also be baking our Expedition Cookies, our Tree Hugger PB Cookies, and our Deep Mud Brownies.
***HAVE YOU TRIED OUR GRANOLA LATELY? We make two different varieties of granola including:
MOUNTAIN CRUNCH GRANOLA: organic oats, organic sunflower seeds, organic coconut, sliced almonds, Michigan honey, organic coconut oil, pure vanilla, sea salt. $6.00/pound
LAUGHING TREE PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA: organic oats, organic sunflower seeds, organic coconut, Michigan honey, Michigan-made peanut butter, organic coconut oil, pure vanilla, sea salt. $6.00/ pound
Both of these granolas are baked in our wood-fired brick oven after the intense bread-baking heat has dissipated (after several days). They are baked at a low temperature to ensure that the nutrients in the grains and seeds remain intact! Please note, these granolas are SWEETENED ONLY WITH MICHIGAN HONEY! There is absolutely no refined sugar in them. They are both wonderful with milk or yogurt or as part of a trail mix. Our children love them! Come have a taste… At least one variety will be available at the market each week.
We are truly honored to bake for you and your family.

Nice selection of Organic Lavender sachets in stock.. Lavender not only smells great but has been used for centuries as a moth repellent. Keep moths at bay in your closets and linen closets in a natural way.
